
According to authorities, a deadly shootout took place at a motorcycle rally in New Mexico over the weekend, resulting in the deaths of three men who were members of rival outlaw biker gangs.
The violence was an escalation of a previous confrontation between the gangs in Albuquerque, law enforcement officials revealed on Sunday, the Associated Press reported.
New Mexico State Police reported that three other bikers, including two of the five individuals injured in the shooting, are now facing charges related to the incident.
The clash involved the Bandidos and the Waterdogs and unfolded in the scenic mountain resort town of Red River.
The victims were identified as 26-year-old Anthony Silva from Los Lunas, 46-year-old Damian Breaux from Socorro, and 46-year-old Randy Sanchez from Albuquerque.
Chief Tim Johnson of the New Mexico State Police disclosed that two of the individuals were pronounced dead at the scene, while the third succumbed to injuries at a hospital.
Authorities have stated that once 30-year-old Jacob Castillo from Rio Rancho is discharged from the hospital, he will be charged with an open count of murder.
Additionally, 39-year-old Matthew Charles Jackson from Austin, Texas, is facing a charge of unlawful carrying of a firearm inside a liquor establishment.
