Law enforcement officials announced on Wednesday that a total of twenty-two individuals are now facing charges in relation to a highly sophisticated drug trafficking operation that facilitated the transportation of drugs between Boston, Massachusetts, and Manchester, New Hampshire.

In the past two days alone, twelve of the suspects were apprehended by the police, the Associated Press reported.

Concurrently, law enforcement officials successfully confiscated approximately 1.6 kilograms (3.5 pounds) of suspected cocaine, 250 grams (8.8 ounces) of suspected fentanyl, 100 bags of drugs believed to be packaged for sale, $26,000 in cash, and four firearms.

U.S. Attorney for New Hampshire, Jane Young, provided this information in an official statement.

The defendants, hailing from various states including New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, are scheduled to make their appearance in federal court later this week.

They will be facing charges related to conspiracy to distribute controlled substances.

Authorities have described the drug trafficking operation as employing a “sophisticated” business model.

This involved the utilization of dispatch telephone numbers that prospective buyers could contact to order narcotics.

Furthermore, the organization employed drug runners equipped with vehicles, who would meet customers at pre-arranged locations.
