In a recent podcast interview, Mo Gawdat, former chief business officer at Google X and an expert in artificial intelligence (AI), has issued a stark warning about the potential dangers associated with AI.
Gawdat advised individuals who have not yet become parents to reconsider having children due to the rapid advancements in AI, Euro News reported.
Gawdat expressed his concerns, stating, “The risks associated with AI are so significant that, when considering all the other threats to humanity, it may be wise to postpone having children if you haven’t become a parent already.”
He shared this perspective during a conversation with podcast host Steven Bartlett on the Diary of a CEO podcast.
This is not the first instance where prominent figures from the tech industry have voiced similar concerns.
Earlier this year, influential personalities like Elon Musk and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak signed an open letter urging developers to temporarily halt further innovations in order to allow the industry and end-users enough time to comprehend and address the latest advancements in AI.
