During a recent meeting with Meta employees at the Hacker Square pavilion in Menlo Park, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg emphasized the company’s active involvement in the artificial intelligence (AI) race.

The meeting, which marked the first event held at the pavilion since the Covid-19 pandemic, saw Zuckerberg discuss Meta’s AI initiatives and provide updates on the company’s progress.

While acknowledging Meta’s recent layoffs at the beginning of the gathering, Zuckerberg primarily focused on Meta’s ventures in the emerging field of generative AI.

This technology utilizes written prompts to generate conversational text and captivating visuals, CNBC reports.

According to a statement shared with CNBC, Zuckerberg expressed enthusiasm about the notable advancements made in generative AI over the past year, providing Meta with an opportunity to integrate this technology into all of their products.

Zuckerberg stated, “We’ve witnessed remarkable qualitative breakthroughs in generative AI, and this allows us to propel the technology forward and incorporate it into every single one of our products. We will play a crucial and distinctive role in the industry by introducing these capabilities to billions of people in innovative ways that others won’t.”

Axios was the first to report on the meeting and Meta’s ongoing AI projects.
