According to sources familiar with the matter, U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon, who was appointed by former President Donald Trump, is expected to preside over his second indictment, known as the “Boxes Hoax” case.

The Guardian initially reported that Judge Cannon’s name appeared on the summons sent to Trump on Thursday, and this information was subsequently confirmed by ABC News and CNN.

It is worth noting that during the previous investigation, Judge Cannon had granted Trump a special master, Breitbart News has reported.

However, Breitbart News reported that some individuals, including left-wing scholars and legal experts, criticized Judge Cannon, accusing her of acting with political motives and even being involved in “obstruction of justice.”

In addition to Judge Cannon, U.S. magistrate judge Bruce Reinhart was also listed on the summons. Judge Reinhart had previously approved the FBI warrant to search Trump’s Florida estate, Mar-a-Lago, in August.

On Thursday evening, the Justice Department officially notified Trump of the indictment, and he subsequently made the announcement on his social media platform, Truth Social.
