According to NASA’s asteroid tracker, an asteroid comparable in size to the Titanic is scheduled to pass near Earth this upcoming Saturday.
The asteroid, officially named 467336 (2002 LT 38), measures approximately 840 feet (269.5 meters) in length, while the Titanic was approximately 882 feet (268.8 meters) long.
In simpler terms, this asteroid is comparable in size to a stadium, KOMO News reported.
Scientists discovered 467336 in June 2002 at the Lincoln Laboratory’s Experimental Test Site in New Mexico.
Fortunately, there is no cause for concern as the asteroid’s trajectory will keep it at a distance of approximately 4 million miles away from Earth, according to NASA.
