The Starlink V2 Minis, a downsized variant of SpaceX’s upcoming generation of internet satellites, have been activated and are actively transmitting data back to Earth, despite their main counterparts yet to be launched.
Recently, SpaceX informed the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that the company has established communication links between its Gen2 satellites and licensed stations within the United States.
The details were disclosed in an FCC filing, initially reported by PCMag.
However, it remains uncertain whether these next-generation satellites have begun delivering internet services to consumers or if SpaceX is still in the process of configuring the V2 Minis, Gizmodo reported.
When approached for clarification, SpaceX did not promptly respond to Gizmodo’s inquiry.
