In an exclusive report, CNN has obtained an audio recording from the 2021 meeting held in Bedminster, New Jersey, featuring President Donald Trump discussing undisclosed documents that he had not declassified.

This recording, which was first aired on CNN‘s “Anderson Cooper 360,” provides new revelations from the conversation and serves as crucial evidence in special counsel Jack Smith’s indictment of Trump for mishandling classified information.

Notably, the recording captures a moment where Trump appears to suggest that he possessed a secret Pentagon document outlining plans to attack Iran, stating, “These are the papers.”

Although this particular quote was not included in the indictment, it adds weight to the allegations against the former president, as reported by CNN in an exclusive article.

During the two-minute audio recording, Trump and his aides engage in a lighthearted exchange regarding Hillary Clinton’s emails after Trump mentions that the document was “secret information.”

One of Trump’s staffers jests, “Hillary would print that out all the time, you know. Her private emails.”

To this, Trump responds by referencing former Democratic congressman Anthony Weiner, remarking, “No, she’d send it to Anthony Weiner.” The remark elicits laughter in the room.

Trump’s statements in the audio recording, declaring “these are the papers” and alluding to something of “highly confidential” nature that he seemingly shares with others present, potentially contradict his recent claim during an interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier.

In the interview, Trump denied having any documents with him, stating, “There was no document. That was a massive amount of papers and everything else talking about Iran and other things… These were newspaper stories, magazine stories, and articles. There was nothing to declassify.”

Earlier this month, Trump entered a plea of not guilty to 37 counts related to the alleged mishandling of classified documents discovered at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida.

These charges serve as the basis for the ongoing legal proceedings.
