Hunter Biden is actively working to address the legal matters surrounding him prior to his father’s re-election campaign gaining momentum.

However, House Republicans are determined to continue their investigations with the aim of tarnishing President Biden through his son.

In a recent span of time, Hunter Biden reached a settlement in a child-support dispute with the mother of his 4-year-old daughter.

He also entered into a plea deal with federal prosecutors, admitting to a pair of misdemeanor tax crimes, which is likely to spare him jail time, the Wall Street Journal has reported.

Additionally, he has agreed to participate in a diversion program, allowing him to avoid prosecution on a gun possession charge on the condition that he remains drug-free and refrains from firearm ownership.

Republicans wasted no time seizing upon the plea agreement, criticizing its perceived leniency and demanding the appearance of David Weiss, the U.S. attorney appointed by former President Trump who supervised the lengthy investigation into Hunter Biden.

GOP lawmakers have emphasized allegations made by an Internal Revenue Service supervisory agent that Weiss was denied special-counsel status and prevented from pursuing more severe charges in Washington, D.C., and California.

Last week, Weiss sent a letter to lawmakers affirming his willingness to appear “at the appropriate time,” likely after the younger Biden’s scheduled court appearance on July 26, during which he is expected to formally plead guilty.

Weiss also defended the investigation’s integrity and refuted claims of being hindered from pursuing additional charges.
