The Stockholm police announced on Friday that they have granted authorization for a protest to be held over the weekend.
The organizer of the protest has expressed his intention to burn the Torah and the Bible outside the Israeli Embassy in Stockholm.
Following the announcement, Israeli officials have urged the Swedish government to intervene and prevent the protest from taking place, ABC News reported.
The demonstration is scheduled to occur on Saturday in front of the Israeli diplomatic mission.
Sweden has recently faced criticism from Muslim nations for allowing the burning of the Quran during small anti-Islam demonstrations.
The individual who submitted the request for the upcoming protest stated that his motive was in response to a Quran-burning incident that took place outside a Stockholm mosque the previous month, carried out by an Iraqi immigrant.
According to the decision obtained by The Associated Press, the Stockholm police have approved the protest, stating that three individuals will be participating in the demonstration.
The event is set to commence at 1 p.m. (1100 GMT) on Saturday, outside the Israeli Embassy.
