According to a Bloomberg report on Wednesday, Apple has developed its own generative artificial intelligence tools to rival ChatGPT.

The company has created a framework called “Ajax,” capable of generating large language models, and has also developed an in-house chatbot service referred to as Apple GPT, as mentioned by undisclosed sources.

Apple’s move is part of its strategy to compete in the AI domain. However, the company has not provided an immediate response to requests for comments on the matter, CNET reported.

Generative artificial intelligence chatbots rely on large language models to operate, much like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Bard.

Microsoft has also incorporated ChatGPT in its AI-powered Bing search. In contrast, Apple has not yet introduced any comparable offerings.

Furthermore, Meta recently launched the second generation of its large language model, Llama 2, making it available for commercial use through a partnership with Microsoft.

Qualcomm is also collaborating with Meta to bring Llama 2 AI implementations to phones and PCs in the coming year.
