According to the July Harvard/Harris survey, approximately one-quarter of Democrats have expressed doubts about President Joe Biden’s mental fitness.
Overall, 59 percent of registered voters have concerns about the president’s mental fitness, while 41 percent believe he is “mentally fit to serve as President of the United States.”
Among Republicans, 85 percent harbor doubts about the mental fitness of the 80-year-old president, while 15 percent do not.
Additionally, a majority of independents (71 percent) share these doubts, along with nearly a quarter (24 percent) of Democrats, Breitbart News has reported.
Furthermore, 68 percent of all respondents believe that Biden is “showing he is too old” to be the President, whereas 32 percent believe he is fit for the role of commander-in-chief.
While 54 percent of Democrats think he is still fit for the presidency, 43 percent disagree. On the other hand, 91 percent of Republicans and 75 percent of independents also believe Biden is demonstrating signs of being too old for the position.
Despite these concerns, Biden continues to enjoy significant support from Democrats in the party’s primary, securing 62 percent support.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. garnered 16 percent support, followed by Marianne Williamson with five percent.
There are 11 percent of Democrats who remain unsure, and five percent expressed support for “someone else.” Notably, the survey indicated that these results show “no significant differences from June 2023.”
In a head-to-head comparison, the survey found that former President Donald Trump leads Biden by five points. The survey was conducted on July 19-20, 2023, and involved 2,068 registered voters.
