Twitter’s ‘X’ rebrand met with problems

On Monday, Twitter underwent a rebranding, transitioning to x.com. However, the transformation of the social media platform encountered some glitches.

During the early morning hours on Monday, x.com failed to redirect to Twitter, presenting itself as an empty web address.

Numerous users reported that instead of reaching Twitter, x.com directed them to a GoDaddy landing page typically used for websites, the Washington Examiner has reported.

This happened despite the logo having been changed to the new black “X” from the familiar blue Twitter bird at midnight.

By 8 a.m. EDT on Monday, x.com was successfully redirecting to Twitter with the updated logo, but the platform itself remained unaltered, except for the modifications to its visual branding.

The owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, had previously announced the logo change in a tweet on Sunday, accompanying it with a video showcasing the new logo and a message declaring that the platform would be bidding farewell to the Twitter brand.

In his tweet, Musk mentioned, “And soon we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds.”

The rebranding event at midnight on Monday was commemorated by projecting the new “X” logo onto Twitter’s offices in San Francisco, California.
