Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a stern warning on Sunday, stating that Russia would face the consequences of its actions as “war” appeared to be approaching.

He emphasized that the conflict was gradually spreading to Russia’s symbolic centers and military bases, characterizing it as an inevitable and just course of events.

During his visit to Ivano-Frankivsk in the western part of Ukraine, Zelensky highlighted the nation’s growing strength but also urged caution and preparedness for potential attacks on the energy infrastructure during the winter.

Zelensky acknowledged the possibility of Russian terrorists targeting Ukraine’s critical facilities once again, as happened the previous year, Barrons reported.

He stressed that discussions in Ivano-Frankivsk revolved around comprehensive preparations for all potential scenarios.

The Ukrainian President’s statements came in the aftermath of three Ukrainian drones being shot down over Moscow early that Sunday, resulting in damage to two office towers and temporary closure of an international airport.

Furthermore, Moscow claimed that it successfully foiled an attempted drone attack on Russia-annexed Crimea with 25 drones overnight.

These recent drone assaults, including those on the Kremlin and Russian towns near the Ukrainian border, have been attributed by Moscow to Kyiv.

The situation has escalated tensions between the two nations, raising concerns about the potential for further conflict.
