
A rampant brush fire raged unchecked in Cedar Park, Texas, on Tuesday night, resulting in the destruction of an apartment building and causing harm to two others, as confirmed by authorities.
The Cedar Park Fire Department was alerted to a grass fire in the vicinity of 12820 West Parmer Lane at approximately 6:15 p.m.
Firefighters swiftly mobilized in response to the four-alarm blaze, with the fire chief addressing the situation during a press briefing, Fox News reported.
The inferno rapidly extended over an estimated area of 120 acres and remained uncontained as of 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, according to information provided by the Texas A&M Forest Service.
Regrettably, one apartment building was rendered a complete loss, while two additional structures sustained varying degrees of damage.
Consequently, individuals residing within the Bexley at Silverado apartment complex, as well as those in the Whitestone Landing neighborhood and nearby commercial establishments, were subjected to evacuation protocols.
Although one minor sustained injuries during the incident, fortunately, no significant injuries were reported.
Firefighting personnel continue to meticulously monitor adjacent regions for potential spot fires while effectively halting the forward progress of the brush fire.
The Texas A&M Forest Service has deployed bulldozers to establish a containment perimeter around the active blaze.
Officials have reiterated the comprehensive response effort, which encompasses the deployment of all available resources, including numerous response units from Cedar Park and the involvement of more than 20 state and local agencies.
