Walt Disney (DIS.N) has established a dedicated task force to delve into the realm of artificial intelligence (AI) and explore its potential applications across the wide spectrum of the entertainment conglomerate.
This initiative unfolds concurrently with ongoing debates among Hollywood writers and actors, who are striving to set boundaries on the technology’s exploitation within the industry, Reuters reported.
Launched earlier this year, prior to the onset of the Hollywood writers’ strike, this group is actively engaged in studying and harnessing AI capabilities both internally and through partnerships with startups, as revealed by three sources who spoke to Reuters.
To underscore its commitment, Disney has posted 11 job openings targeting individuals skilled in artificial intelligence or machine learning.
These roles encompass a diverse array of sectors within the company, spanning from Walt Disney Studios to the enterprise’s theme parks and the engineering division known as Walt Disney Imagineering.
Additionally, opportunities extend to Disney-branded television and the advertising unit, which aims to construct a cutting-edge AI-powered advertisement system, as articulated in the job advertisements.
