At the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) held in Shanghai in July, Fourier Intelligence captured the spotlight with the introduction of their sleek, jet-black humanoid robot, GR-1.
While the worldwide technology community had been captivated by AI software developments, notably OpenAI’s ChatGPT, since its debut in November, the Chinese-crafted GR-1 took center stage, serving as a powerful reminder of the possibilities inherent in bipedal robots.
This type of robot, which can walk on two legs at a speed of 5km per hour while carrying a 50kg load, has garnered significant interest from global players like Tesla and Xiaomi, Yahoo Finance reported.
For Fourier Intelligence, a startup headquartered in Shanghai, the success of GR-1 was an unexpected but remarkable achievement.
