Released by the European Space Agency on July 26, this image has drawn the attention of online observers this week due to the curious formation resembling a prominent “question mark” symbol (?).

According to the European Space Agency, the original image depicts the emergence of two stars, known as Herbig-Haro 46/47, coalescing at the heart of a gaseous and dusty disc, The Hill reported.

In a conversation with Space.com, a representative from the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) speculated that the object in question is possibly one or more galaxies engaged in a process of “interaction.”
