
A valuable aircraft belonging to Putin has incurred damage following a kamikaze drone strike that penetrated deep into Russian territory.
The incident occurred at a military airport situated in the Novgorod region, over 700 miles away from Ukraine. The attack involved a drone operating in a manner reminiscent of a helicopter.
According to the ministry, no injuries were reported, and the resulting fire was rapidly brought under control.
The aircraft that managed to evade the strike are purportedly being relocated to an airfield located in the Murmansk region, the Daily Sun has reported.
The Russian defence ministry admitted a strike: “The Kyiv regime carried out a terrorist attack using a copter-type UAV on a military airfield in Novgorod region.”
“As a result of the terrorist attack on the territory of the airfield, a fire broke out in the aircraft parking lot, which was promptly eliminated by fire brigades,” he said. “One plane was damaged, but there were no casualties as a result of the terrorist attack.”
The defense ministry also indicated that the assault had been executed using unmanned aerial vehicles, employing a flight pattern reminiscent of helicopters.
In an independent declaration quoted by Russian news outlets, the Defense Ministry affirmed that a drone of Ukrainian origin, resembling a plane, had been intercepted and taken down above the Belgorod region, adjacent to Ukraine.
A Ukrainian Telegram channel has reported that two Tu-22M3 supersonic bombers sustained damage in the course of the attack.
