Robert J. O’Neill, aged 47, renowned for his claim of eliminating Osama Bin Laden as a Navy SEAL in a 2010 operation, has been apprehended in Texas on allegations of assault and intoxication.
On Wednesday, O’Neill was taken into custody in Frisco, where he was in the process of recording a podcast at a cigar lounge.
Although specifics of the altercation have not been divulged, official records indicate that he was admitted to Collin County jail and subsequently released on a $3,500 bond, Daily Mail reported.
Police said he faced a Class A misdemeanor charge of assault causing bodily injury and a Class C misdemeanor charge of public intoxication, the Dallas Morning News said.
The case is not O’Neill’s first run-in with the law since he rose to fame for his role in Operation Neptune Spear to kill Bin Laden.
In 2016, he was arrested in Montana for drink driving but prosecutors later dropped the charges.
