
In an unfortunate incident, a military helicopter transporting over 20 U.S. Marines crashed on Sunday morning during a training exercise in Australia’s Northern Territory.
Tragically, three military personnel on board lost their lives, while others sustained injuries, some of which are severe, as reported by officials.
The crash of the MV-22B Osprey helicopter occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. local time on Melville Island, situated off the shores of Darwin city, Fox News reported.
The exercise drills involved military personnel from the United States, Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Timor-Leste.
Among the casualties, three Marines succumbed to the accident, and twenty others were wounded, with some facing critical conditions.
Australia’s Department of Defence spokesperson, in a statement to Fox News Digital, verified the occurrence and confirmed that no Australians were involved in the unfortunate crash.
