In the early hours of Monday, an Israeli airstrike impacted the international airport located in Aleppo, a city in northern Syria.
This action resulted in significant damage to a runway, rendering it inoperable, as reported by the Syrian state media.
According to the state-run news agency SANA, a military official stated that Israeli aircraft originating from the Mediterranean Sea executed the assault at approximately 4:30 a.m.
Thankfully, no casualties were reported as a result of this incident, the Associated Press reported.
This year has witnessed multiple instances of the airport being subjected to attacks, with two such incidents occurring in March that similarly incapacitated its operations.
At the moment, no immediate response has been provided by Israeli authorities regarding these recent events.
Over the past few years, Israel has conducted numerous airstrikes on targets within areas of Syria under government control.
While these actions frequently involve attacks on locations such as the airports in Damascus and Aleppo, Israel typically refrains from openly acknowledging or discussing the details of these operations.
Often, the targets of these strikes include Syrian military units or groups with ties to Iran.
