Astrophysicist Avi Loeb has described the remains of a small meteor discovered in the ocean as being “exceptionally different from what is typically found within our solar system.”
Approximately ten years ago, a meteor with a velocity surpassing that of 95% of the stars in its vicinity collided with the Pacific Ocean, News Nation Now reported.
Recently, in June, a research team associated with the interstellar expedition effort known as the Galileo Project successfully retrieved fragments of this meteor for the purpose of conducting analysis.
Loeb, who spearheads the Galileo Project, shared with “Elizabeth Vargas Reports” that the team holds a high level of confidence that the materials they’ve uncovered originate from sources outside our solar system.
“We compared it to what you find on the Earth, moon, Mars, anywhere in the solar system. And nothing like it was seen before,” Loeb said.
