In a significant development, Ukraine executed its most extensive drone assault on Russian military targets since the commencement of the conflict.
This maneuver effectively incapacitated several military aircraft at the Pskov air base. Concurrently, Moscow initiated an intense missile barrage on the Ukrainian capital, marking one of the most prolonged such attacks in months.
Although Ukraine lacks the long-range cruise and ballistic missiles frequently employed by Russia in their strikes on Ukrainian urban centers—including power stations, hotels, ports, and residential structures—Kyiv has proficiently cultivated a domestically crafted fleet of strike drones.
These drones are capable of traversing considerable distances into Russian territory, the Wall Street Journal reported.
During the course of one night, numerous drones were dispatched, navigating their way towards multiple regions including Moscow, Kaluga, Orel, Ryazan, Bryansk, Tula, and Pskov, in addition to the Russian-occupied Crimea, as reported by Russian authorities.
A subsequent wave of drone strikes followed a similar trajectory on the subsequent day.
Although many of these drones were intercepted, the attack on Pskov, situated over 400 miles from Ukraine, stands out as one of the most notable Ukrainian offensives on Russian soil since the commencement of the conflict 18 months ago.
