Sen. Mitch McConnell appears to freeze again at a Kentucky event

On Wednesday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell once again appeared to pause in thought during a conversation with reporters in Covington, Kentucky.

This pause lasted for over 30 seconds when he was queried about the possibility of running for re-election.

It’s noteworthy that this isn’t the first time McConnell, a Republican from Kentucky, has experienced such a moment, NBC News reported.

In July, he encountered a similar pause during a news conference on Capitol Hill, remaining silent for 19 seconds before departing from the cameras briefly. Upon his return, McConnell reassured reporters that he was alright.

As it became evident that McConnell was facing a similar episode on Wednesday, an aide approached him and inquired, “Did you hear the question, senator?” However, McConnell remained unresponsive.

After re-engaging, he briefly addressed a question concerning Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, requiring the question to be repeated by his aide.

Following that, he was queried about former President Donald Trump, another question that had to be reiterated. Notably, McConnell often abstains from delving into topics related to Trump.

Subsequently, McConnell departed, and reporters refrained from inquiring about the incident.
