
Law enforcement authorities in Pennsylvania are actively pursuing a man who was recently convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend in 2021 and managed to escape from Chester County Prison on Thursday morning.
The West Chester Police Department made an announcement via Facebook, revealing that 34-year-old Danelo Cavalcante had successfully evaded custody at the prison where he was incarcerated, Fox News reported.
Cavalcante was last observed wearing a white T-shirt and gray shorts, according to the police. He stands approximately 5 feet tall, weighs around 120 pounds, and possesses brown eyes and long, black curly hair.
Additionally, he is known to be fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, with some proficiency in English.
Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan disclosed that Cavalcante was last sighted walking along Wawaset Road in Pocopson Township around 9:40 a.m. on Thursday.
During a press briefing, Ryan emphasized that numerous law enforcement agencies, including the Pennsylvania State Police and U.S. Marshals, have launched an extensive search operation to locate Cavalcante.
