President Biden’s press conference in Hanoi, Vietnam, came to an abrupt conclusion on Sunday when a member of his team appeared to signal the end of questions while the president was still addressing reporters.
The president had just delivered remarks following the G20 summit in New Delhi, India. While responding to a question, someone could be heard speaking over him, expressing gratitude with “thank you everybody,” signaling the end of the press conference.
President Biden also acknowledged with a “thank you” before he started to leave the stage, Fox News reported.
According to CNN reports on Sunday, it was White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre who concluded the president’s remarks.
During the press conference, President Biden took questions from five reporters and concluded by mentioning that he was “going to bed.”
However, he appeared to linger, and CNN’s Jeremy Diamond raised a query about whether he was prioritizing the strategic interests of the United States over human rights concerns.
