Governor Kristi Noem, a Republican from South Dakota, revealed her endorsement of former President Donald Trump during a Friday night event in Rapid City, South Dakota, at the South Dakota Republican Party’s Monumental Leaders Rally.
She described Trump as “the fighter that our country needs,” Breitbart News reported.
“It is my honor to present to you the man in the arena,” Noem said of Trump in an ode to President Teddy Roosevelt’s “Citizenship in a Republic” speech.
“He is a man of significance. He is the leader, the fighter that our country needs,” She said. “He has my full and complete endorsement for president of the United States of America. I will do everything I can to help him win and save this country.”
Considerable excitement and speculation had surrounded Governor Noem’s endorsement and former President Trump’s visit to the Mount Rushmore State on Friday.
There was growing speculation about her potential candidacy as a running mate for the 45th president in the event of his nomination victory.
