An incident occurred at the Cuban Embassy in Washington, involving the throwing of at least one Molotov cocktail.
Fortunately, there was no significant damage inflicted, and no injuries were reported. U.S. law enforcement authorities initiated an investigation into the matter.
On Sunday around 8 p.m., Secret Service officers were summoned to address the incident on a bustling street within the Adams-Morgan district of the city, NBC News reported.
Embassy representatives conveyed that an individual had launched a “potential incendiary device” towards the embassy building, as stated by Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi on Monday.
Remarkably, there were no resulting fires or noteworthy harm inflicted upon the building, and at the time of the statement, no arrests had been made.
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, via a social media platform, reported that the Cuban Embassy had been subjected to a “terrorist attack” involving an individual who had thrown two Molotov cocktails—an improvised explosive device fashioned from a bottle filled with flammable liquid and a lit wick.
He reassured that no injuries occurred during the incident. As of Monday, a representative from the Cuban Embassy had not yet provided additional details in response to inquiries.
