New legislation may compel the government to disclose information regarding potential visits by extraterrestrial beings to Earth.
In July, the Senate passed an amendment that will be incorporated into the 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
This amendment, known as the Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) Disclosure Act, stipulates that government agencies in possession of records or samples related to unidentified aerial phenomena or “biological” material must surrender these materials within a 300-day timeframe, the Daily Mail reported.
President Joe Biden will be granted 90 days to appoint a nine-member Review Board, tasked with scrutinizing each record to determine whether it qualifies as a UAP that should be disclosed to the public.
Government agencies holding such records will be mandated to provide both printed and digital copies to the Review Board, which will then have 180 days to conduct investigations and an additional 14 days to publish their findings.
It’s important to note that the president retains the authority to veto the disclosure of specific evidence if it is deemed to pose a national security threat.
