A drone barrage launched by Russia struck the Black Sea region of Odesa, resulting in a warehouse being damaged, numerous trucks being charred, and two drivers sustaining injuries in fiery explosions.
These incidents subsequently prompted the suspension of ferry services between Romania and Ukraine, according to officials on Tuesday.
Video footage captured from the Romanian side of the Danube River depicted rapid bursts of Ukrainian anti-aircraft fire streaking across the night sky, followed by the detonation of two orange fireballs in the vicinity of the port area.
Romanian Border Police reported that ferries were anchored along the Romanian shores of the Danube in Isaccea due to the assaults on Ukraine, the Associated Press reported.
Traffic was redirected through Galati, a Romanian town situated upstream on the Danube. Ukraine’s air force also claimed to have successfully downed 26 out of the 38 drones launched by Russia overnight.
Russian forces specifically targeted the Izmail area within the Odesa region, marking a continuation of their sustained campaign aimed at disrupting Ukraine’s capacity to export grain.
On the previous day, attacks in Odesa resulted in two casualties within a grain warehouse, along with significant damage to an abandoned high-rise hotel, as confirmed by officials.
