Turin Shroud reimagined by AI shows what Jesus ‘really looked like’

Artificial Intelligence has unveiled the most detailed image ever of the Turin Shroud, offering a glimpse of what Jesus might have appeared like.

Today marks the 90th anniversary of the fabric’s public display after a four-century hiatus, attracting over 25,000 visitors to Turin’s Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.

This enigmatic and contentious relic has been asserted by some to capture the actual countenance of Jesus, supposedly used to wrap him following his crucifixion, the Daily Star reported.

To commemorate this milestone, the Daily Star has introduced a contemporary perspective on this ancient artifact.

With the assistance of Midjourney, you can now behold a lifelike representation of what AI envisions Jesus resembled when compared to the original 14-foot (4.2 meters) long cloth.

The image portrays a man with flowing hair and a beard, his eyes open and gazing directly ahead, while a portion of his body is also visible.

Those who flocked to the cathedral in 1933 were convinced that the Shroud bore the blood of Jesus Christ, yet skepticism persists to this day.

Its unveiling dates back some 600 years, and even then, some questioned whether the Shroud was more likely a hoax than a genuine relic of Jesus.
