Next month, Kari Lake is poised to declare her candidacy for Kyrsten Sinema’s Senate seat, paving the way for what is anticipated to be one of the most fiercely contested and unpredictable races of 2024.

Kari Lake, the former local television news anchor who has since gained popularity among conservatives and continues to challenge the outcome of her 2022 gubernatorial defeat, disclosed to The Wall Street Journal that she will formally announce her campaign during a rally on October 10th.

The Senate race is shaping up to be a three-way battle, featuring Lake as the Republican contender, Democratic Representative Ruben Gallego, and Sinema, who now identifies as an independent.

The outcome of this race holds significant potential to determine which political party secures control of the U.S. Senate, the Wall Street Journal reported.

“We need to get a senator in there who is going to fight back and put America first,” Lake said in an interview.

Lake garnered national prominence during her gubernatorial campaign in the previous year by forging a strong alliance with Trump.

She made headlines for her unapologetic critiques of the media and her critics, even those within her own Republican party who had ideological disagreements with Trump’s political approach, such as the late Senator John McCain.
