Toys R Us Planning Brick and Mortar Comeback

Toys ‘R’ Us is poised for a comeback once again. WHP Global, the parent company of this iconic toy retailer, has unveiled plans to expand its brick-and-mortar presence by introducing up to 24 flagship stores.

Additionally, they intend to establish stores within airports and on cruise ships, describing this extensive expansion as the “air, land, and sea” initiative.

The inaugural airport location is scheduled to open in November at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, as reported by CNN.

While specific details about cruise lines and opening dates remain undisclosed, it’s noted that the cruise stores will specialize in cruise-themed merchandise, Comic Book reported.

The new flagship stores are expected to debut during the 2024 holiday season, thanks to a new partnership with Go! Retail Groups.

These fresh outlets will complement the existing 452 Toys ‘R’ Us shops located within Macy’s stores across the country.

A spokesperson mentioned that the new flagship stores will be strategically situated in prime locations that complement Macy’s existing retail footprint.
