The automation revolution is in full swing at a humanoid robot factory where robots are taking charge of their own design.

Agility Robotics has unveiled ambitious plans to construct the world’s largest humanoid robot manufacturing facility in Salem, Oregon.

This tech startup aims to enhance human life by employing robots capable of handling routine human tasks.

Even tech giant Amazon has thrown its support behind this forward-thinking company, which has amassed over $180 million in private funding since its inception in 2015, the Daily Sun reported.

The engineers responsible for the bipedal robot, known as Digit, have set their sights on producing more than 10,000 robots annually.

Each Digit unit measures just under 6 feet, featuring two legs and two arms.

These robots possess the ability to sense when a human or obstacle is in their path, allowing them to navigate around such obstacles seamlessly, enabling them to work alongside people effectively.

Digit has been designed to perform a variety of tasks, from unloading trailers to moving packages, with the aim of alleviating some of the tasks that people are no longer inclined to do.

Damion Shelton, co-founder and CEO of Agility Robotics, expressed his hope that these robots will help address the growing demand for manufacturing labor.
