Vermont law enforcement authorities have unveiled a composite sketch of an individual deemed a person of interest in the homicide of a retired college dean on the popular Castleton trail.
This person, as depicted in the sketch, was observed on the Delaware and Hudson Rail Trail around 4:30 p.m. on October 5, close to the location where 77-year-old Honoree Fleming’s body was discovered, according to a news release from the Vermont State Police.
Witnesses have described this person of interest as a white male in his 20s, approximately 5’10” tall, with short red hair, CBS News reported.
He was last seen wearing a dark gray T-shirt and carrying a black backpack, as reported by the state police.
Detective Sgt. Adam Temple, a composite police sketch artist from the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office, created the sketch after meeting with witnesses who had observed the person of interest on the trail.
Police are urging anyone who recognizes this individual depicted in the sketch to reach out to authorities or provide anonymous tips.
