Throughout the Americas, people turned their gaze to the skies on Saturday, in hopes of witnessing a rare celestial event known as the annular solar eclipse.

Referred to as the “ring of fire,” this phenomenon was observable in various parts of the United States, Mexico, and numerous countries in South and Central America, as confirmed by NASA.

Omar Lopez, who observed this extraordinary spectacle from Campeche, Mexico, shared his perspective, saying, “It’s one of those great incidents that nature gives us. So I think its something really beautiful, I think (it) is one of those things that you can’t miss,”

An annular solar eclipse takes place when the moon’s shadow covers the sun, revealing its outer rim, thus creating the appearance of a ring, Global News reported.
