The right-wing Swiss People’s Party, poised to secure the largest share of the vote in the upcoming elections, aims to gather 100,000 signatures by May.
This endeavor is aimed at triggering a referendum to enshrine “perpetual” neutrality in the country’s constitution, Bloomberg reported.
This move could potentially lead to the reversal of sanctions against Russia, which had received approval from US President Joe Biden.

Despite these challenges, more than 90% of Switzerland’s population continues to express strong support for the principle of neutrality.
