The Israel Defense Forces has stated that, according to intelligence information, a rocket launched by Palestinian Islamic Jihad, which failed to reach its target, was responsible for the tragic explosion at the Gaza hospital.

In a statement, the IDF says that “an analysis of IDF operational systems indicates that a barrage of rockets was fired by terrorists in Gaza, passing in close proximity to the Al Ahli hospital in Gaza at the time it was hit.”

“Intelligence from multiple sources we have in our hands indicates that Islamic Jihad is responsible for the failed rocket launch which hit the hospital in Gaza,” the IDF adds, the Times of Israel reported.

Israel has refuted any responsibility for the explosion at a Gaza hospital, an incident that Hamas alleges resulted in the deaths of at least 500 people, with more individuals trapped under the rubble.

According to the Israeli army, intelligence information has revealed that the strike on al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza City was caused by a misfired rocket from Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists, the Daily Mail reported.

However, a spokesperson for Islamic Jihad has strongly contested this assertion, labeling it as “completely incorrect” and accusing the IDF of attempting to shield themselves from what they describe as a “horrifying crime and massacre against civilians.”
