8 French airports forced to evacuate for security reasons

On Wednesday, eight airports in France were compelled to undergo evacuations for security reasons.

Beauvais airport, situated near Paris, stated that it evacuated in response to “an anonymous threat received by several French hubs.” The airport later announced its reopening process.

In eastern France, Strasbourg airport evacuated due to a bomb threat, as reported by CNN affiliate BFMTV, citing a police source. Nantes airport in western France also underwent evacuation for similar reasons.

Airports in Biarritz and Toulouse in the southwest, Lille in the north, and Lyon-Bron in the southeast resumed operations following a police operation after being evacuated earlier in the day due to a bomb scare, CNN reported.

Nice airport in southern France, which had evacuated earlier in the day due to an unattended item, has already resumed operations.

Simultaneously, the Palace of Versailles near Paris evacuated visitors for security reasons for the third time in less than a week, as per the popular tourist destination’s website on Wednesday. The palace later reopened to visitors.
