In a passionate speech at a pro-Palestine rally, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan appeared to make a veiled threat of potential intervention in Gaza.

During the rally, Erdogan accused Israel of committing war crimes and portrayed Hamas as “freedom fighters.”

These comments have stirred controversy and prompted Israel to withdraw its diplomatic presence in response.

President Erdogan’s statement included a suggestion that Turkey could take unexpected action in Gaza at any time, which received an enthusiastic response from hundreds of thousands of attendees, the Express reported.

Video footage of the event, which is currently circulating on social media, shows the pro-Palestine crowd chanting “Turkish military to Gaza.”

The video was initially posted by the news aggregating account Visegrád 24 and features Erdogan speaking in Turkish at the event.

Thousands of people in the crowd can be seen waving Turkish and Palestinian flags at the venue in Istanbul, where he was addressing those attending the Great Palestine meeting.

According to translations by various sources, Erdogan’s statement was presented as part of a “motto.”
