During the IDF’s operation in Gaza on Sunday night, Private Ori Megedish, an IDF soldier, was successfully rescued, as confirmed by a joint statement from the IDF and Shin Bet on Monday.
She had been kidnapped by Hamas terrorists on October 7 and has now been reunited with her family. A subsequent medical examination indicated that she is in good health.
The IDF and Shin Bet remain committed to securing the freedom of the remaining hostages, the Jerusalem Post reported.
President Isaac Herzog expressed his joy for Megedish’s rescue in a statement posted on X, previously known as Twitter, on Monday night.
Following the IDF soldier’s liberation, Hamas announced on its Telegram channel that the news was a deliberate diversion from the hostage video released by the terror organization earlier on Monday.
