
In the early hours of Friday morning, Ukraine reported a significant drone attack launched by Russia, targeting crucial infrastructure in southern and western regions.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, they managed to intercept and destroy 24 “Shahed” drones out of approximately forty that were launched from Kursk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia.
Additionally, a Kh-59 guided air missile was launched from the occupied territory of Kherson.
The drone strikes struck civilian targets in and around Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, during the early hours of Friday, as confirmed by Ukrainian authorities, CNBC reported.
On Thursday, the U.S. government imposed a comprehensive set of new sanctions against Moscow in response to its invasion of Ukraine.
These sanctions encompass nearly 100 new measures that target energy production, mining, and defense sectors.
The sanctions also include measures aimed at curbing sanctions evasion in the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and China.
