California Democrats will need to reschedule events originally planned for Saturday’s party convention.

In the afternoon, the convention in Sacramento was disrupted by predominantly pro-Palestine demonstrators advocating for a ceasefire in the Gaza war.

The Democrats, who were in the process of outlining their agenda for the 2024 election, faced interruptions during speeches by three congressional representatives vying for California’s open U.S. Senate seat.

By approximately 7:45 p.m., the Safe Credit Union Convention Center, housing around two hundred people, was placed on lockdown, Fox2 KTVU reports.

The demonstration at the CDP convention mirrors incidents at the Democratic National Committee headquarters in Washington, D.C., where protestors clashed with police, leading to the evacuation of lawmakers from the building.

Additionally, pro-Palestinian demonstrators disrupted traffic on a Boston University bridge, aiming to influence Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) to reconsider her stance on the issue.
