In a Friday night social media outburst, ex-Congressman George Santos declared his intent to submit a series of ethics complaints against lawmakers who actively advocated for his removal.
Santos pledged to officially file these complaints on Monday, targeting Representatives Nicole Malliotakis, Mike Lawler, and Nick LaLota—fellow Republicans from New York.
Additionally, Santos planned to file a complaint against Robert Menendez, a Democrat from New Jersey and the son of the embattled Senator Bob Menendez, The Washington Times reported.
The disgraced former legislator levied accusations against the group, alleging various misconducts such as insider stock trading, misusing taxpayer funds, and violating campaign finance regulations.
Ironically, Santos himself is facing 23 federal charges for similar alleged transgressions, including wire fraud and money laundering.
Despite warnings from party leadership about the potential negative precedent, lawmakers overwhelmingly voted to oust Santos on Friday.
