No Labels, the nonpartisan group preparing to field a third-party presidential ticket, has announced that it is urging the Department of Justice to investigate potential “unlawful conspiracy to subvert Americans’ voting rights” by Democratic and Republican strategists.

Despite facing criticism from centrist Democrats and Never Trump Republicans, No Labels is determined to take an offensive stance.

The organization aims to emphasize its broader political message that voters deserve an alternative to a Biden-Trump rematch.

Ryan Clancy, the chief strategist for No Labels, asserts that they are simply offering a choice and has reported to the Department of Justice about a perceived coordinated effort to undermine voters’ choices in the election, Axios reported.

“All we are doing is offering a choice,” said Clancy. “There is a clear and coordinated effort, that we have reported to the Department of Justice, to undermine people’s choices in this election.”

While No Labels acknowledges its inability to compel the Justice Department to investigate critics like Matt Bennett from Third Way or Rick Wilson from the Lincoln Project, they argue that there is a crucial distinction between political criticism of candidates, allowed under the law, and efforts to impede a political party’s access to the ballot.

“These groups are using intimidation to keep groups off the ballot,” said former North Carolina Republican Governor Pat McCrory, a No Labels co-chair. “This is not just an attack on a candidate, but on the right of the American people and our democracy.”
