President Biden’s team is expressing concern over the ongoing investigation led by special counsel Robert Hur into Biden’s management of classified documents, fearing potential repercussions on his re-election bid.
While Biden’s aides do not anticipate criminal charges to arise from the inquiry, they anticipate that Hur’s forthcoming report may contain embarrassing revelations, potentially accompanied by photographic evidence, detailing the methods Biden employed to secure documents.
In late 2022, classified documents from the Obama era were unearthed in Biden’s Delaware home garage and a private office he frequented, Axios reported.
Biden’s aides are apprehensive that his political rival, Donald Trump, may leverage Hur’s findings to draw parallels with the felony charges Trump is currently facing in connection to retaining classified documents post-presidency.
Despite the belief that Hur has concluded his investigation, the exact timing of the final report’s release remains uncertain, with speculation suggesting it could be imminent, possibly within the upcoming week.
