Traditionally, Iowa and New Hampshire held the first spots, but Biden made the strategic decision to elevate South Carolina to the forefront.

This move garnered mixed reactions, particularly from New Hampshire, which conducted its own contest last month.

However, due to DNC rules favoring South Carolina, the New Hampshire contest held limited significance, serving as a mostly symbolic event where Biden secured a resounding victory as a write-in candidate, NBC News reported.

In the South Carolina primary, Biden effortlessly surpassed his two primary rivals, Representative Dean Phillips of Minnesota and self-help author Marianne Williamson.
