On Friday, the United States carried out a series of airstrikes in Syria and Iraq, hitting 84 out of 85 targets, with no reported Iranian casualties, according to two US defense officials.
A preliminary assessment indicates that all but one of the targets were either destroyed or functionally damaged.
The airstrikes were a response to a drone attack in Jordan that killed three US service members and injured many.
President Joe Biden stated that these strikes aim to deter and disrupt the operations of militant groups in the region, CNN reported.
This event marked the inaugural instance of the United States conducting simultaneous strikes in both Iraq and Syria.
