A team of four emerging engineers from a Hong Kong school achieved a Guinness World Record by crafting the world’s smallest humanoid robot.

Aaron Ho Yat Fung, Isaac Zachary To, Justin Wang Tou Duong, and Ngo Hei Leung, members of the robotics team at the Diocesan Boys’ School, successfully developed a robot standing at 5.55 inches tall, surpassing the previous record holder by 0.44 inches.

The earlier record was set by Zain Ahmad Qureshi in 2022.

Guided by Guinness World Records’ criteria for the smallest humanoid robot category, their creation is not only diminutive but also exhibits bipedal movement and the ability to articulate its shoulders, elbows, knees, and hips, UPI reported.

The team envisions their tiny robot as an affordable educational resource, particularly aimed at benefiting low-income students.
